DAY FOR LIFE 2010
Lord, for your faithful people, life is changed, not ended provides the theme
for this year's Day for Life – the day dedicated to raising awareness about the
meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition.
Day for Life 2010 aims to present the Church's teaching on death; it will
highlight the importance of the sacrament of the sick, of praying for the dead
and of accompanying the dying person as they journey towards God. It will also
point towards the consoling presence and support of the community of faith and
all of those who 'have gone before us marked with the sign of faith'.
The proceeds of the second collection will go to The Anscombe Bioethics Centre
(formerly the Linacre Centre for Healthcare Ethics) and other life-related
activities supported by the Church. Your parish has a Gift Aid envelope.
Day for Life Prayer We thank you Lord for the gift of life. Help us to appreciate the unique
dignity of every human person and the individual contribution they make to the
world, in fulfilment of the task you give them.
Enable us by your grace to promote their well-being, serving you in one another
in a spirit of generosity, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
